Our History
Most of the Members of ‘We The People’ have been involved in civic activities in association with Mangalore Civic Group, a Mangaluru city-based voluntary, non-profit civic group. We were engaged in interacting with and submitting memorandums to government authorities regarding issues concerning the public.
Formation of functional Ward Committees and Area Sabhas
We interacted and submitted representations to the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner several times, urging for the formation of functional Ward Committees and Area Sabhas in the Mangaluru City Corporation limits.
Promote Decentralized Waste management
We suggested that the MCC Commissioner promote decentralized waste management to avert further disasters in the Pachanadi landfill.
Develop Parks and Greeneries
We urged the Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) to develop parks and greeneries in Mangaluru city.
Prevent Moral Policing
We persuaded Police authorities to act to prevent moral policing in the Dakshina Kannada district.
Mirror Now, a national news channel, took up our initiative on curbing moral policing.
